- Make sure the net has no holes and the rim is not bent.
- Check that the telescopic mechanism locks properly and there is no play.
- The thread connecting the rim to the stick should be tight and clean.
- Do not force the pole apart - if there is any resistance, clear the blockages and try again.
- If the telescope is not properly locked, it may fold when landing a fish.
- Maintain a stable stance when operating the landing net - slippery banks and piers increase the risk of falling.
- Do not lean too far out of the water with a long telescope.
- A long stick extended can be a hazard during a storm - do not use a landing net during lightning.
- Never use a landing net near high-voltage lines, especially if they contain metal parts.
- Carry the landing net in a folded state to avoid catching branches or people.
- Keep out of reach of children - metal parts and the folded telescope may cause injuries.
- When landing a large fish, do not lift the entire weight with the landing net - it is intended to guide the fish, not lift it in the air.
- Use two hands: one at the handle, the other closer to the rim to relieve the telescope.
